High-Quality
Public Education
High-quality public education system is the foundation of every thriving community. As a mother of two young children, I understand the importance of supporting our children and educators.
I was elected to Beacon Hill to uplift families and provide Massachusetts' public school students the education they deserve, regardless of special needs, family income, or language spoken at home. I was proud to support the Student Opportunity Act, a landmark education reform bill signed into law in 2019, which fixed Massachusetts' outdated education funding formula and poured an additional $2 billion per year into our Commonwealth schools, especially our highest-needs districts.
Providing Massachusetts students a high-quality education requires innovative and well-rounded policies. Young people are currently facing a mental health crisis, and our schools lack the resources to help them. That is why I advocate for equitable access to mental health support in K-12 schools; we must combat the crisis and give students the resources they need to succeed.
